Who Wants a Road ID???

I’ve been relentlessly entering all your Road ID giveaways but no luck.  But lucky for me, as many of you know, the great people at Road ID are very very generous to running bloggers.  These awesome people sent me a Road ID and want to send one of you one as well!  Not only did I really want one, but I really needed one as well.  There just no excuse for running without ID and honestly this is the easiest, most accessible form!  We all tend to think, it can’t happen to me, but the truth is anything can happen to any of us and being prepared can make all the difference.

So here’s what Road Id says…

They offer many different styles (I went with the Wrist ID Elite in green.  I’d put a picture but well…putting my information and families phone numbers out there is probably not the wisest decision).  And now you have the option to chose between the original format or interactive.  With the original, you put all your information directly on the tag.  With the interactive (great for people who move alot or have medical histories that may change often), you put your name and anything someone would need to know immediately, then the rest of the tag gives instructions for responders to call or go online for the rest of your information.  Pretty cool huh?

  5. i would go with the original wrist bu tinteractive. we’re military and will move eventually, but with deploymetns and TDYs, and freinds moving, i need to change my emergency info frequently.

  9. I really need to get around to getting a Road ID. I like the Wrist ID elite because its plastic and not fabric so it wont be smelly cause I know that I sweat when I run.

  16. Lucky me, I just won a RoadId from Mel’s great giveaway! I am so glad. (So is my hubbs!) So I won’t steal a spot from someone else. Although winning one and giving it to some would be totally cool! So if you want to count me and on entry for being a follower, you can.   32. You are running for amazing reasons I doubt you ever run out of motivation to hit the pavement! I had a friend that I grew up with that took his own life about 6 years ago after his 4 year old only daughter passed away after a 2 year battle with Lukemia. I couldn’t even begin to imagine…. Happy and strong running to you!

  37. i connect with your mission because i too am a charity runner, running in honor of my daughter haley who has joubert syndrome (thats what my blog is all about). charity running is so fulfilling and really helps you feel like what you are doing is really benefiting someone besides yourself. you ROCK though…$20,000, you gotta tell me how you have been so successful!!!!!

  40. You know I’m a stalker…I mean…follower of your page. Can’t get enough of your enthusiasm! Also, if I were to purchase a Road ID I’d purchase the Road ID original wrist band in bright yellow so it could be seen and not mistaken for a bracelet or sport watch. I like the original because it gives me space for emergency numbers and the interactive does not. How often is someone going to find your body in a ditch and look up your Road ID website to help you out? Not likely. The number list is just easier. So that’s what I would order.

  42. All of those stories are touching but I felt touched the most by Amanda Post. To have beaten her disease once and and to have it come back is devastating. I cannot begin to imagine the pain those who knew her went through during that time. Her family must feel so blessed to have someone as caring as you to carry on her memory through your running.

  43. I’ve been thinking of ordering the Supernovas – not for me, but for my boys. They’d be great to have clipped on them during the summer nights when they run around and play close to the street.

  77. As a cancer survivor (Melanoma ’05) as well as lost 4 close relatives (Mother, both Grandmothers, and Aunt) and my dad is fighting still, I relate very much with your cause and effort. I always am moved and motivated by anything related to the “C” word.

  91. I read up on your charity work and I think that what you’re doing is very admirable. I think that being able to run hally and in a healthy manner is a gift. By donating time and money to these organizations, you are sharing your gift with them. Giving back to people whom are fighting on a daily basis makes me realize that the simple act of running is a gift and we should never take it for granted.
