Welcome to giveaway #2 of Reader Appreciation week (have you entered the Lock Laces giveaway yet? If not check it out HERE).
But first I have to complain for a second (making you work for it). I managed to pull an upper ab muscle on Monday. I was sore yesterday but today its actually pretty painful. Hard to explain, not like normal ab soreness (which I like). Its only in the upper right side and is a very sharp pain. Sitting or standing up all the way actually hurts because I feel like its stretching it too far. Trying to sit up from laying down is another huge ouch. Honestly not sure how I managed to do this, do you guys have any suggestions? Ice just seemed to make it tighter so I’ve been applying some heart which feels pretty good but not making the pain go away when I’m sitting or standing. And you can’t exactly rest your abs. They are engaged pretty much all the time. Advice please!
Okay giveaway time…in case you didn’t know, I’m a big head band fan. I have bangs that don’t really fit in a pony tail and when they get sweaty, its gross and in my face. But I have incredibly straight hair. As in I don’t blow dry it and I’ve never touched a straightener but it never gets a single wave to it. So head bands tend to slide right off. In comes the non-slip variety.
Earlier last year Sandy was fundraising for TNT and started making head bands to sell to help raise funds. She had a contest to name them and I won (BIC= Because I Can). ”Because I can.” Has been my own little running mantra for as long as I can remember. When I started TNT, I came up with the phrase, “Because I can. For those how can’t. So someday they will”. Well apparently Sandy liked my little slogan and it stuck =) So I won a few free BIC Bands and have been loving them every since! She even made me a custom band for my snow white outfit in Disney =)
Of course there are, well, brand name head bands but honestly I find them just a bit expensive and I love buying from buddies! Especially when every purchase benefits charity! Every month Sandy supports a different charity and donates and at the end of the month, she donates a percentage of that months sales to the charity! WHAT an awesome idea!
I have collected quite a few and if you haven’t tried them, now is your chance! Or even if you have a few, here’s a chance to get a few more! Sandy is offering a BIC band of choice to TWO winners!

Hair mishap story – I had my hair braided for a 16 mile trail run. About 1.5 miles in my pony tail holder fell out and my hair was coming undone!! I didn’t bring an extra hair tie with me so I had to back track, but I found it on the trail – PHEW!!! Now I always bring extras.

I recently bought the silver skinnie minnie headband; still awaiting it’s arrival!
I haven’t been wearing my visor because it’s breaking my forehead out and I’m literally EATING my hair, esp since it’s SUPER windy in Denver this week. Pretty sure that BIC bands will be my saving grace to this problem. I like my hair on my head, not in my mouth
I’m glad I read the instructions AFTER I post too…

My worst hair mishap was in high school. It was Prom, the first time I went. I brought a picture to my hairdresser and told her exactly what I wanted. She some how took my explicit instructions to mean “do what ever the heck you want”…and she did. I looked horrible! I was in such shock that I couldn’t even explain how upset I was to her. I drove home in tears and my sister and mom helped to piece me together before my date showed up.

I like BIC bands on facebook — and on my head in real life!
My hair story involves BIC Bands!
I was doing a dress rehearsal for the Princess Half. I had on my planned outfit and wanted to make sure it all worked. About a mile and a half in I paused to drink and kind of brushed against my head a bit much – I was hot!
4 miles into the run I was heartbroken when I realized I was missing my argyle BIC band. I doubled back and re-ran my loop as fast as I could just scouring the ground to find it. I even asked a person that was doing the same loop if she’d keep her eyes open for it. Neither of us saw it, so I just continued on my way toward my house. At 6.6 miles I looked on the bridge I was crossing — and there it was! The sun was shining right on it light a spotlight and it was completely unharmed. I was so happy …. and I happily wore it during the Princess Half – and didn’t lose it this time!
Just placed my order for my BicBands ! Thick Brown & Green Paisley, Thin Brown and Pink & Thin Blue Stars ! Cant wait to give these a try … Love the idea behind them

Hair mishap? How about 5th grade to about 10th grade?? My mom cut my hair super short in 5th grade and thanks to puberty, it grew back super curly and I had no idea what to do with it (neither did my mom). It was all sorts of disaster until I was about 15 and met a great hair stylist who introduced me to hair gel and a diffuser. Makes for fun pictures though!

I liked them on FB! I need these, I have hair issues while running.
I liked them on FB and bought two last night. I got skinny minnies in black and sparkly silver! Cannot wait to try them! I have straight hair too and have been searching for “the one” for awhile now. Because, regardless of the cost/brand on others I’ve tried, if they don’t slip on me, they pull so tight I darn near my miss my endorphin high!!!

Hair mishap: last summer was my first summer of running. I was used to wearing my hair in a low ponytail. FAIL. All the humidity and heat made me sweat ridiculously and my low ponytail turned into the worst nest of knots ever. It took me about 30 minutes in the shower with a crapton of conditioner to get it all out and it was still tangled! I had to pull out some knots.
Lesson: HIGH PONYTAILS or PIGTAILS!
I’m a BICband fan on FB (and I have a crazy collection of them!).

Hair mishap story — I got to the gym one evening without a BICband OR even a ponytail holder. I had 6 miles on the schedule. Imagine the look on the face of the woman who decided to get on the treadmill right beside around mile 4.5… Pretty sure she didn’t like the sprinkles of sweat on her anymore than I liked having to share them but there was no way I was skipping a run due to having to keep my hair down. lol
Blogged it…

I follow BIC bands on FB!
I have had so many hair mishaps, it is not even funny! The worst one was when I tried to cover my blonde hi-lights with brown. First my hair turned Elvira black for about two weeks, then it turned green. I ended up spending more to get it “corrected” than if I had gone to the salon and let them handle it in the first place!
just ordered my first 2 BIC bands. I ordered the teal skinnie minnie for my daughter and the skinny brown sparkle for myself!
I just became a fan on facebook and have to say that Kimert79 turned me onto this great product!
